Resumen:
A list of 204 species of macro-invertebrates (^retainedon a 500micron mesh sieve) from soft bottoms of the Golfo de Nicoya, Costa Rica, is provided. Data on station location, depth, and sediment characteristics are included. Polychaetes were represented by 120 species, crustaceans by 46 species and molluscs by 22 species. Miscellaneous tax a included 16 species. Samples were collected at 41 stations with a modified Smith-Mclntyre grab at depths ranging from 2 to 46 m during July 1980. From a total of 4684 individuals the polychaete Mediomastus califor-niensis was the most common species represented by 462 specimens collected at 19 stations. Prionospio muhibranchiata, also a polychaete, was represented by 300 individuals but collected at 23 stations.
